Ilex cre. Maxima P40-(32-LTR) PONPON-125/150

Ilex crenata is an evergreen holly with small, box-like leaves that clips beautifully, making it ideal for formal, cloud-pruned “pom‑pom” topiary. Supplied in a neatly shaped pon‑pon form, it provides year-round structure and is well suited to Irish gardens. Grow in sun or light shade in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil; it does best in neutral to acidic conditions and may yellow on very chalky ground. Naturally dense and slow-growing, it responds well to regular light trimming. Tiny white flowers may appear in late spring, and on female plants small black berries can form if a suitable male is nearby, though topiary is often clipped before fruits develop.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
