Description: The Areca palm, or butterfly palm, makes a statement. A basic in any indoor garden where you need an exotic look. It is also a good air purifying plant.

Height and Spread: 2 x 1.5m. Slow growing

Light requirement: Bright room with plenty of indirect sunlight

Water requirement: Moderate. Keep the compost moist but not soggy, allowing the top layer of soil to dry. As for any tropical plant, misting is essential to prevent browning of the tips.

Soil: Moist but  well-drained (House plant mix)

Feeding: Every 2 weeks from March to September

Minimum Temperature: 13°C
