Acer palmatum Garnet / 50-60 CM C7.5

Acer palmatum 'Garnet' is a compact, mound-forming Japanese maple with finely dissected, cascading foliage in a deep garnet red. It is well suited to containers or a sheltered border in Irish gardens, where it thrives in sun or light shade with protection from cold, drying winds. Plant in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained, slightly acidic soil, avoiding shallow chalk. Deciduous and elegant, it provides refined structure and colour through the growing season and makes an excellent focal point for smaller spaces and patios.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
